A new campaign raises awareness about HIV by showing that people living with the virus are real people and by using images and stories from HIV-positive people and their loved ones. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) launched the campaign, which is called “Let’s Stop HIV Together,” according to a CDC Act Against AIDS campaign statement. Among the participants are two POZ Army Generals, Jamar Rogers and Hydeia Broadbent, as well as two POZ editors, Regan Hofmann and Oriol R. Gutierrez Jr. The goal of “Let’s Stop HIV Together” is to remind the public that HIV does not discriminate and that, with more than 1 million people living with HIV in the United States, our nation must redouble efforts to prevent transmission and get people linked to care, treatment and prevention services.
