Five patients at Taiwan’s prestigious National Taiwan University Hospital accidentally received HIV-positive organ transplants, The Huffington Post reports. Information about the donor’s HIV status was misheard over the telephone by a hospital employee, and the staff failed to follow procedure and double-check the results. In addition to levying fines, regulators may suspend the hospital’s transplant programs for up to a year.
