Hundreds of Albinos Killed in Tanzania to “Cure” AIDS
Hundreds of albinos in Tanzania are believed to have been killed and young albino girls raped as a black magic “cure” for AIDS, Reuters reports. Albino “hunters” harvest albino blood, hair, genitals and other body parts of their victims for potions that they incorrectly believe will cure AIDS. Tanzania has a population of 40.7 million people, including about 1.4 million people living with HIV. While it has been criticized for inaction, the Tanzanian government says it will put an end to the killings.

This compilation of tidbits about Tanzanian albinos should be treated with suspicion. I have asked Reuters to substantiate their claims about the three brothers and they have not done so.

One has to wonder at the history of such a culture - European-imported Fundamentalist Christianity meets witch doctors with absolutely no credence paid to the true, provable observations of science - willful ignorance will be the death of us all!
