A step forward for the rights of people with HIV/AIDS around the world: The United Nations Development Programme and the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) have launched the Global Commission on HIV and the Law, according to a UNAIDS statement. The commission seeks “to increase understanding of the impact of the legal environment on national HIV responses.” The commission wants to address “negative legal environments” around the world for people with HIV.
