A lesson in not jumping to conclusions: A young man was indeed beheaded in Uganda, but he was not associated with Integrity Uganda, an Episcopalian LGBT group, the Box Turtle Bulletin blog reports. Initial reports indicated that the man was murdered because he was a member of Integrity Uganda. The hoax originated from a post at Changing Attitude, a blog advocating for LGBT inclusion in the Anglican Communion. Anti-LGBT advocates may have planted the story to discredit LGBT advocates. The Ugandan parliament is currently considering “anti-homosexuality” and HIV criminalization bills.
