Venezuela to Guarantee Free HIV Meds in 2011
The Venezuelan government will soon guarantee access to antiretroviral medication to people living with HIV, VenezuelaAnalysis.com reports. In 2011, HIV-positive people in Venezuela will receive guaranteed treatment and free medications. Also, the country’s health ministry AIDS program will start using rapid HIV testing. Currently, five people die of AIDS-related illness each day in Venezuela, yet the country has no laws governing HIV/AIDS policy.
