Visual AIDS held its 15th annual Postcards From the Edge benefit January 25–27 at the Sikkema Jenkins & Co. gallery in New York City. The event showcased postcard-sized artwork by both established and emerging artists, which the public could purchase for $85. All works were displayed anonymously, and the artist’s identity was revealed only after a postcard was purchased.

This year’s participating artists included: John Baldessari, Lawrence Weiner, William Wegman, Kara Walker, Christian Marclay, Marilyn Minter, Rirkrit Tiravanija, Ann Hamilton, Kiki Smith, John Waters, Bill Viola, Simon Doonan, Jonathan Adler, Vito Acconci and many others.

More than 1,500 people attended this year’s show and sale.

Visual AIDS held the first Postcards From the Edge benefit in 1988 and has since raised nearly $600,000. With the help of those funds, the organization has been able to produce contemporary art programs that promote AIDS awareness and support artists living with HIV. 2013 marks the 25th anniversary of Visual AIDS.
