Health Law Mandate for Employers Postponed Until 2015
Implementation of a mandate in the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. the health care reform law, or ACA) that employers with more than 50 workers provide coverage or face fines has been delayed one year until 2015, The New York Times reports. This delay does not postpone the rest of ACA implementation in 2014, which includes establishing health insurance exchanges in the states so that the uninsured can shop for coverage. The delay was in response to complaints from businesses that they needed more time to comply.
