HIV/AIDS advocates in Tampa pressed state officials at a public forum to not cut funding from the state AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), the St. Petersburg Times reports. About 150 people wearing red “Save My Life” T-shirts opposed possible changes to income requirements that would make it harder to qualify for ADAP. State officials said the ongoing fiscal crisis might make such changes necessary. Florida already has nearly 4,000 people on its ADAP waiting list. In 2010, Florida cut its ADAP costs by reducing the number of medications it would cover from 100 to 50.
