amfAR Launches GMT Initiative for MSM, Transgender People
Previously called the MSM Initiative, the GMT Initiative will continue to award grants and build capacity for global HIV programs working to decrease the spread of HIV in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and Latin America, according to a statement by amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, which launched the initiative. The new name reflects the reality that the initiative funds programs for gay men, other men who have sex with men and transgender people.
