Nearly $1.6M in New HIV Cure Grants From amfAR

The Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) has awarded $2.1 million in new research grants and fellowships, according to an amfAR statement. The bulk of the awards, nearly $1.6 million, will support cure-focused research and help scientists understand how, where and why the virus persists in HIV-positive people on antiretroviral medications. Also, amfAR announced a round of grants awarded through the Mathilde Krim Fellowships in Basic Biomedical Research program, which supports young HIV/AIDS researchers.
