The number of U.S. children born with HIV/AIDS has dropped since the mid-1990s, according to a report by the Health Resources and Services Administration (medicalnewstoday.com/HRSA, 10/29).
The decline was seen across all demographic groups, according to HRSA’s sixth annual Women’s Health USA report.
The number of white infants born with HIV dropped by more than 80 percent, black infants born with the virus decreased by 65.6 percent, and Hispanic infants born with HIV dropped by 40.6 percent.
