Pennsylvania Bar Offers Free Drinks to People Who Get Tested for HIV

Working in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Community Care Management, a nonprofit health care organization, Lucille’s Bar in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, offered free drinks on January 6 to people who get an HIV test, WJAC Johnstown reports. When people got their results, they received a $25 gift certificate.

According to the article, the bar plans on hosting more screenings this month and next.

If it takes an enticement for people to become aware of the condition of their health, then go ahead and pass out the lollipops! It is a sad commentary on the state of our society that such is necessary.

Very interesting... when I use NJDOHSS money, I have assure them that the gift cards cannot be used to purchase alcohol or cigarettes. Apparently NJ and Pa don't agree on this issue.
