POZ Celebrates World AIDS Day with a Broadway Tribute to Burt Bacharach

POZ invites you to the premier performance of Bacharach to the Future, a fund-raiser for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA).

This very special, star-studded evening launches a partnership between POZ and BC/EFA and reflects POZ’s dedication to raising funds for the HIV community. It is a wonderful and unique way to celebrate those living with—and those lost to—HIV/AIDS.

The evening’s performance will be directed by Bruce Kimmel (The First Nudie Musical and The Brain From Planet X) and is under the musical direction of Alex Rybeck (Grand Hotel, Damn Yankees). The show honors music legend Burt Bacharach, the composer of “That’s What Friends Are For.” Promises, Promises, Mr. Bacharach’s award-winning musical, first opened on Broadway 40 years ago December 1, 1968.

Special guests scheduled to appear include: Tony winner Christian Hoff (Pal Joey, Jersey Boys), host and associate producer Kevin Spirtas (The Boy From Oz), Emmy winner Liz Callaway (Miss Saigon), Christopher Jackson and Mandy Gonzalez (In the Heights), BethAnn Bonner (One Life to Live), Billy Porter (Angels in America, Jesus Christ Superstar), Linda Purl (Tom Sawyer), Julie Reiber (Wicked, Rent), Katie Adams (Wicked) and Matt Walton (Hair, Burn After Reading), along with many other talented New York performers. Each cast member will sing songs from the Bacharach catalogue.

John Pagano, a noted Bacharach protégé is also scheduled to perform—with Burt’s blessing!

POZ’s Editor-in-Chief Regan Hofmann and POZ founder Sean Strub will make special appearances during the evening.

The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. and runs two hours and 15 minutes with a 15-minute intermission.

The show will be at:

New World Stages
340 W. 50th St.
New York, NY
