$33M HIV Stripper Lawsuit Rejected in Canada

A judge in Canada has rejected a $33 million lawsuit by a Toronto man who contracted HIV from his ex-wife, the Toronto Sun reports. Percy Whiteman met Suwalee Iamkhong at the Zanzibar Tavern, a gentleman’s club where she worked as a stripper. Whiteman argued that the club, the province and the federal government failed to protect him because Iamkhong was not tested for HIV when she arrived in Canada from Thailand in 1995. HIV tests are now mandatory in Canada for immigrants older than 15.

People really need to understand that they _themselves_ carry the responsibility to protect themselves. How absurd is it to sue the strip club and your country for not protecting you from HIV if it was _you_ who decided not to use a condom?
