Possible HIV, Hep Exposures for University Students in Canada
First Nations University of Canada is seeking former students who participated in blood-typing exercises because they may have been exposed to HIV and hepatitis, The Canadian Press reports. The school said that the holder that projects the lancet used to draw blood was cleaned with alcohol and reused instead of being discarded after each test. The exercises were done in the northern campus biology lab between 2002 and 2011.
