Catholic Archbishop Seeks HIV/AIDS Awareness in Philippines
Roman Catholic Archbishop Luis Antonio Tagle of Manila has
urged increased HIV/AIDS awareness in the Philippines, the Union of Catholic
Asian News reports. To that end, the Archdiocese of Manila has scheduled two
workshops on the virus. One workshop will be for priests, and another will be
for seminarians and laypeople. Nine new HIV cases are reported daily in the
country, and more than half are in the Manila area.
