China Bans AIDS Activist Meeting
Chinese officials have banned a meeting planned for 50 Chinese and foreign AIDS activists that was scheduled for early August, reports the Radio Telefís Éireann (RTÉ). The meeting organizers had invited experts from South Africa, India, the U.S., Canada and Thailand to gather in Guangzhou, near Hong Kong, to discuss topics such as discrimination against HIV-positive people and the safety of the blood supply.
