Through an online screening process, the China Center for Disease Control has chosen 125 teenage ambassadors to raise HIV/AIDS awareness among young people between the ages of 15 to 24, a group that currently accounts for 50 percent of new infections.
The campaign began last year with 108 ambassadors, reaching around 50 million of China’s young people. Recent China CDC polls indicate that a growing number of teenagers are having sex earlier and not using protection during their first sexual encounter.
