CVS Caremark—the largest U.S. pharmacy based on total prescription revenue—will stop selling cigarettes and other tobacco products at its CVS/pharmacy stores across the country by October 1, CNN reports. The move makes CVS the first chain of pharmacies nationwide to stop tobacco sales. It’s unclear if this decision by CVS will influence other pharmacies to do the same. Smoking cessation products will remain on CVS shelves.
