The AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) board of directors has appointed David Ernesto Munar as president and CEO of AFC effective February 1, 2011, according to an AFC statement. Munar currently serves as AFC vice president. Mark Ishuag, the current AFC president and CEO, has accepted the position of president and CEO of AIDS United, a new organization to be launched in early 2011 resulting from the merger of the National AIDS Fund and AIDS Action. Munar has worked at AFC since 1991. He will become only the fourth CEO of AFC in its 25-year history.
