No More Brain Drain?
For positive people who worry that HIV meds by themselves don’t seem to protect fully against HIV dementia, here’s good news: Researchers at University of Rochester’s Medical Center in New York have figured out just how an HIV protein, called Tat, damages the brain. And they were able to block the process, raising hopes for a future drug to help keep our brains going strong despite HIV.
