In yet another dramatic turn in a healthcare crises sweeping Puerto Rico, dozens of doctors were arrested yesterday for allegedly using fraudulent methods to obtain their medical licenses. Many of the doctors worked in local hospitals and emergency rooms. Drug Enforcement Administration is looking into past records to determine if they illegally prescribed medications to patients. Just last month, officials announced plans to revamp the island’s AIDS treatment program following federal investigations into local mismanagement and a freeze on government funds.
