Minnesota Man Receives 90 Days in Jail for Allegedly Exposing Woman to HIV

Jessie Allen Tuff has been sentenced to 90 days in jail for allegedly exposing Debra Jean Miller of Duluth, Minnesota, to HIV by having unprotected sex with her without disclosing his status, the Duluth News Tribune reports. Medical records show that Tuff has also tested positive for hepatitis C. Miller, however, continues to test negative for both blood-borne infections.

Last month, Tuff pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor charge of intentionally inflicting or attempting to inflict bodily harm.

In court on October 27, Tuff also apologized to Miller, 50, who told authorities she had a consensual sexual relationship with Tuff in 2008. The judge fined Tuff $100 and ordered him to pay $332.26 for medical testing and transportation costs.

I think we are eradicating people not hiv. Having unprotected sex is BOTH partners responsibility. If god really exists i wonder what he thinks about this law ... oh hold on god thinks no one should have sex unless you want children. =P

We know we have HIV, so why is it hard to disclose just so you can get your rocks off?? TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. IF YOU CAN'T/WONT DISCLOSE, THEN NO SEX! I am tired of other HIV people giving the rest of us a BAD NAME! Diclosing and a rubber is the best method, and in additon, maybe have release forms signed? We're trying to eradicate HIV but if carelessness continues, we never will!!! GROW UP!
