Mark Dybul to Continue Overseeing PEPFAR Under Obama
Ambassador Mark Dybul, President George W. Bush’s U.S. global AIDS coordinator, announced that he will remain at the helm of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief under Barack Obama’s administration for an indeterminate time period, The Washington Post reports.
In an e-mail to his staff, Dybul wrote: “I wanted to let you know I have been asked to rescind my resignation, so I will be continuing in the coordinator position beyond the inauguration.” Obama will be sworn in January 20.
According to the Post, there had previously been speculation that Nils Daulaire, president and CEO of the Global Health Council, would be a top contender for the position in Obama’s administration.
