Elton John, Sharon Stone and Others Fight AIDS on Oscar Night
The Elton John AIDS foundation raised $5.1 million on February 24, at its annual Academy Awards viewing party, ENews 2.0 reports (enews20.com, 2/26).
According to the article, part of these funds came from the auctioning of a 1974 restored Corvette convertible that belonged to actress and AIDS activist Sharon Stone. Stone reportedly said she was thrilled to help raise such a large amount of funds for AIDS research.
Partygoers included: Heidi Klum, Harrison Ford, Ellen DeGeneres, Portia De Rossi, Kate Beckinsale, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder and Quincy Jones.

"I recently met a guy who is negative. I did tell him about my status and he decided to kiss me anyway (we didn't go further than that). But a day later, he called and said that he actually had a mouth ulcer that time when we kissed and he was very worried. Asked if he can get the virus from me that way. For that moment, I felt so insulted and yet I felt so bad. It was my first time having a contact with a "negative" guy."
