HIV disclosure rates in Ethiopia are low, according to a study published in the journal AIDS Care and reported by Medical News Today. Among a sample of 1,540 people receiving antiretroviral treatment in eastern Ethiopia, 66 percent disclosed to their spouse, 17 percent to their siblings and 16.8 percent to other relatives compared with 11.6 percent who did not disclose to anyone. Researchers cited stigma as an obstacle to disclosure.
