The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is sending dozens of warning letters to companies selling bogus pills and supplements that claim to cure or prevent sexually transmitted infections such as HIV, herpes and genital warts, The Associated Press (AP) reports. FDA scientists warn that people could waste time taking these drugs and delay medical care and treatment. The companies will have 15 days to take the products off the market or face legal action, including seizing the products and taking company officials to court. Most of the products are sold online, but some are available in drugstores.
