Positive Man Arrested for Faking Test Result to Have Unsafe Sex
An HIV-positive New York man was arrested December 8 and charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a forged document that claimed he had tested negative for the virus, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle reports. The man allegedly forged the document and presented it to an unnamed woman so she would have unprotected sex with him.
According to the article, the woman had asked 47-year-old Duane Lang for proof of his HIV-negative status before agreeing to unprotected sex. Lang allegedly forged a document—dated December 12, 2007—saying he was “negative/non-reactive for the HIV-1 antibody based upon the rapid HIV antibody test,” which was supposedly from the AIDS Center of Queens County, where Lang had worked previously as a volunteer.
When the woman later questioned Lang about the document’s authenticity, he admitted that it was fake and that he had tested HIV positive in 2002. Lang faces up to eight years in prison if convicted.

While I think what he did was absolutely wrong and vengful, These other people having unprotected sex with people they don't know are just as much to blame. I see all these ads telling people they want bb sex and who's to know if they are or aren't. When you have sex with a stranger you should treat everyone as if they do have something and use protection. HIV is not the only thing you can catch. Key word is YOU should protect YOURSELF and not expect anyone to do it for you!!!!

This just gets to me! Why would someone that has been positive that long not have the respect for others, let alone the EXPERIENCE of disclosing your status like a responsible adult!! This should be second nature!!

What an A-hole! He deserves jail and more. It can be a 2nd or 3rd degree felony to have unprotected sex and be poz in Penna.

How important is it to stop the spread of this virus?
Those of us that are infected must accept the responsibility to do our utmost to NOT spread this thing. I know many think, "Well, I'm only one"...but every person who accepts the responsibility of NOT spreading the virus will do something to STOP it!

Ugh. Criminal, loathsome and just plain tacky. Why people don't grow a pair is beyond me. Well like they say, if you don't have anything nice to say...
