Grant to Fortune Society Expands HIV Services for Ex-Inmates
A $250,000 grant will increase access to transitional health care services to former inmates living with HIV, according to a statement by the Fortune Society, a nonprofit social service and advocacy group that supports reentry to society from prison. The group received the grant from Kaiser Permanente, a nonprofit provider of health services and health insurance. To be awarded over a two-year period, the grant will expand the group’s drop-in center on Rikers Island in New York City.
