Mark Dybul Joins Global Business Coalition on AIDS

Former U.S. Global AIDS coordinator Mark Dybul, who helmed the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) under former president George W. Bush, is joining the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GBC) as a senior advisor, the organization announced today.

“GBC has an extraordinarily powerful and well-established platform—it’s a unique organization that turns businesses’ infrastructure, skills and resources into tools to save lives,” Dybul said in a statement. “I will work side-by-side with coalition members to find ways to deliver greater impact where it matters most and to make sure the world knows what we’re achieving.”

Dybul was asked to resign from his previous position once the Obama administration took office earlier this year. As head of PEPFAR, he led the largest-scaled effort to provide HIV treatment, prevention and care to those affected by the epidemic across the globe.
