Wednesday, September 12, is the first annual Global Female Condom Day, according to a statement by the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, which is a member of the National Female Condom Coalition that launched this new awareness day. Advocates and organizations in 22 states and 21 countries will promote the use of female condoms as underutilized safer sex tools. Although they’re called female condoms, these prophylactics can be used for both vaginal and anal sex. The FC2 is currently the only female condom available in the United States.
