The Lion King and BC/EFA Give $5.5M to U.S., South Africa

The fundraising collaboration established in 1998 between the musical The Lion King and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) has raised more than $5.5 million, according to a BC/EFA statement. From that amount, BC/EFA has awarded more than $3 million in grants to 51 AIDS groups in South Africa and $2.5 million to AIDS and family service organizations in the United States.
