130 HIV Advocacy Groups Support Health Care Reform
More than 130 HIV advocacy and health organizations have endorsed Lambda Legal’s friend-of-the-court brief filed with the U.S. Supreme Court in support of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, a.k.a. health care reform, according to a Lambda Legal statement. The week of March 26, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in the case Department of HHS v. Florida, along with several other cases challenging the constitutionality of health care reform. Supporters maintain that the Affordable Care Act, which bans discrimination based on preexisting conditions, will allow many more people with HIV to access private health insurance.
