White House to Release National HIV/AIDS Strategy
The White House will unveil the national HIV/AIDS strategy (NHAS) on Tuesday, July 13, AIDS.gov reports. The NHAS will serve as a “roadmap” for policymakers, their partners and the public to address the U.S. HIV/AIDS epidemic. Participants in the press conference will include Department of Health Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, White Domestic Policy Council Director Melody Barnes, White House Director of the Office of National HIV/AIDS Policy Jeffrey Crowley and Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services Howard Koh, MD.

although the white house and several AIDS organizations did their part in promoting the announcing of the national AIDS strategy, as usual the national and local media did little to report this historic occasion.
f the white house expects the new strategy to be a success then they must do their best to encourage the media to buy in to refocusing on AIDS as a major threat to our countries health and well being.
