Florida HIV Clinic Owner Admits to Health Care Fraud
Orlando Pascual Jr., the owner and operator of Medcore Group LLC and M&P Group of South Florida, pleaded guilty January 7 to defrauding the Medicare program in connection with a $5.3 million HIV infusion fraud scheme, South Florida Business Journal reports.
According to the article, Pascual admitted that between August 2004 and November 2006 he plotted with others to submit about $5.3 million in fraudulent claims to Medicare. The clinics claimed to specialize in HIV treatment. However, Pascual acknowledged that clinic employees intentionally manipulated patient’s blood samples so they would appear to need treatment, but they didn’t.
While Pascual is already serving jail time for another Medicare fraud involving durable medical equipment, he will be sentenced in April. Seven other co-defendants are scheduled to go to trial next month.

I am fortunate to be healthy and employed at this time as i have been positive now for 12 years wiith little or no complications. When i hear about things like this i think about all the oportunities that will not be there when i need them. I hope that people are able to overcome their desire for wealth and pursue the health aspect of this disease. I did not ask for this and neither did anyone i ever spoke with. Thank you POZ and keep up the good works you too Peter Paul and Regan
