Woman Claims She Intentionally Transmitted HIV to More Than 500 People

In a video posted on mediatakeout.com, an unidentified woman claims to have intentionally transmitted HIV to more than 500 people, The Associated Press reports. Authorities are working to determine whether the video is a hoax.

In the 11-minute clip video, the woman—who is wearing a bandana to conceal most of her face—says she contracted HIV in 1998. She explains she’s out to “destroy the world” following her diagnosis.

According to the article, tipsters told police that the woman lives in Detroit. In Michigan, it is a felony to not disclose one’s HIV status to a sexual partner.

Mediatakeout.com editor Fred Mwangaguhunga said the website received the video electronically January 13.

Update: The Michigan Messenger reports that the Detroit Police have confirmed the video is a hoax. The 23-year-old woman told authorities the video was intended to raise HIV awareness.

Christina is right otherwise what is sperm washing. It can be used to decrease the risk of HIV transmission in HIV-positive fathers, because the HIV infection is carried by the seminal fluid rather than the sperm. Still, under unprotected sex, there would be no sperm without semen so protect yourself.

That is some creepy s^*t. I wish someone would help her to understand life doesn't end with HIV. Its obvious though she doesn't want to live but go out in a hail of bullets.

Christina-Semen and sperm are the exact same thing and both can contain HIV if the man is poz. I've been told by my doctor that precum has a higher viral load in it than semen does but this has been disputed. Women can infect other women and other men with HIV.

When I first read the title of this article I thought about how this was possible but then after reading that it is a hoax it is like Aiden from NYC comments that you should assume that people are Poz until they have been proven HIV negative and how you should still have safer sex anyway This applies to poz people too as you can get other strains of HIV and get reinfected I think it's good that she wants to try to educate people about HIV and AIDS but she went about it the wrong way

Yes, women can and do transmit HIV to their partners. I acquired my infection from my now ex-wife. In our case we had unprotected sex with each other, 3 to 4 times a day for 5 years. She was unfaithful with me twice while we where together. As for the Girl from Detroit - this type of video put out to the general public with the intent to cause fear should be treated as a terrorist act. It was not sanctioned by any official or community group.

Women can and do infect men. Read the Herpes Simplex Virus section on this site and you will see that this is a common co-factor in HIV infection.

ted, you are beginning to piss me off.I'm a man who has never had sex with another man, yet I have AIDS. here is how I break it down. by chance. 90% blood transfusion, early 80's/ 4%sex with women, yes, there were a few, and i have earned my wings(get it?, i did and did..lol)3% job service to PWA(hopefully your government experience can help you with acronyms)2% ..those pesky aliens..or maybe i was a pest to them?. 1% unknown..http ! //jangosteve.com/post/380926251/no-one-knows-what-theyre-doing

James Howells. Yeah Right; Now that makes me Howell (Laugh). I suppose their wives found a way to super-climax down the man's urthera and infect him, or maybe they breast fed them. You have no facts to back you up; you probably made this crap up to spew your gay biases. The big crises today is women being infected by their bi-sexual boyfriends/husbands, it's not the other way around. Get your head out of you gay agenda and deal with the truth. Truth will save you not more lies.

It's a shame the government won't diseminate the same information to everyone in society as they do among themselves. Christina, where do you get false info about Sperm not containing HIV, yet Semen or "Precum" does? Yes, HIV/AIDS is in those body fluids, Semen, Sperm, and Precome are essentially one; they derive themselvels from the same sources. Vaginal Fluid however is not injected into a man during intercoarse. A man's penis would have to be hamburger meat to contract HIV/AIDs from a woman.

Its not possible where will she get the energy to sleep around with 500 guys... HOAX please stop lying to the world

aiden, nyc, 2010-02-15 16:40:53
This is interesting because it lets you know that you should treat everyone as though they are positive...

All HIV awareness is knowledge we need to know! Sorry for the sister. She needs help

smileylizard, california, 2010-02-02 14:19:16
Ted's work in government health could explain quite a bit of HIV crisis in certain continents

jj, , 2010-02-02 11:46:30
Almost impossible for a female to transmit HIV. Of course it's a hoax.
