Hypochondriac Commits Suicide Believing She Had HIV
Kirsten Thompson, 56, of the United Kingdom, killed herself because she thought she had infected her husband with HIV, according to an article in the Daily Mail. But a blood test after Thompson’s death revealed that she did not have HIV, and neither did her husband. A friend said that Thompson suffered from anxiety and was worried when her husband fell ill. She worried she contracted the virus from a former lover who had been to Venezuela. Shortly after taking an HIV test, Thompson went to a cow shed in a field near her home and shot herself.
