Janssen Pharmaceuticals has partnered with other groups to launch a pediatric HIV treatment donation program for eligible countries in sub-Saharan Africa, according to a statement from the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF), which is one of the groups. The others include the Partnership for Supply Chain Management and MAP International. Children will receive free HIV treatment from Janssen until they turn 19 years old. At that time, they will be transitioned into an adult program. About 91 percent of the 3 million children with HIV worldwide live in sub-Saharan Africa.
