Media Still Need HIV Education in Kenya
Advocates are urging for media training of Kenyan journalists who write about HIV, PlusNews reports. Advocates claim words like “scourge” and “sufferer” are used too often to describe HIV/AIDS and people living with the virus. They also claim journalists focus on how people contracted HIV versus how they are living with it. Some media training has already been done and has had an effect, but advocates are seeking a continuing effort.
