HIV Prevention for Latino Youths Ages 13 to 18 in Denver
This year, more than 700 students in Denver are expected to take part in an HIV prevention program for Latino youths ages 13 to 18, Education News Colorado reports. ¡Cuídate! (translated as “Take care of yourself”) is a six-hour evidence-based curriculum created to develop positive attitudes toward abstinence and condom use in a culturally relevant manner. Students who took part in the program were significantly less likely to have sexual intercourse, multiple sex partners or unprotected sex.
