Ludacris “Money Maker” Benefits Youth and AIDS Research

At an April 24 fundraiser in Atlanta, rapper Ludacris’s non-profit youth foundation raised thousands of dollars to benefit youth organizations and to combat AIDS, memphisrap.com reports (4/27).

The “Benefit for the Ludacris Foundation at Ralph Lauren” was hosted by the rapper, R&B star Ciara and Disturbing Tha Peace Records CEO Chaka Zulu. Also making an appearance was singer Fergie, cover girl for M•A•C 's Viva Glam cosmetics line, which raises funds for people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.

According to the article, 15 percent of all sales at the private fundraiser—now in its third year—went toward the rapper’s foundation, which works to empower young people and their communities. Last year’s event raised over $200,000 for the organization, but, according to Ludacris, this year’s fundraiser had a much larger turnout.

One day prior to the fundraiser, Ludacris held a $100-a-plate dinner at his new restaurant Straits Atlanta to raise money for HIV/AIDS research.
