Cultural Practices in Malawi Put Women at Risk for HIV
Women in Malawi are at risk of contracting HIV because the country does not have laws criminalizing certain social or cultural practices, The Tribune Blantyre reports.
According to the article, a report presented at a local conference on gender reveals that current laws intended to protect women’s rights fail to prevent women from being exposed to HIV and other sexually transmitted infections.
