Project Runway’s Malvin Vien
As fashionistas and reality show junkies are well aware, Project Runway is back, airing Thursdays at 10 P.M. Eastern/Pacific on Lifetime.
We caught up with one of this season’s designers, Malvin Vien (who is HIV negative), to talk about his involvement with the “TEST ME/for hiv” campaign, launched by the Asian & Pacific Islander Coalition on HIV/AIDS (APICHA).
The campaign aims to empower Asians and Pacific Islanders and their doctors to talk about HIV risk factors and getting tested.
We also spoke with APICHA’s chief medical officer, Robert Murayama, MD, MPH, about the organization’s innovative new campaign, which uses fashion to start new conversations about HIV.
