Concerns have been raised over the medical treatment of an HIV-positive inmate in a Michigan prison, The Michigan Messenger reports. The Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) says it’s reviewing the records of the prisoner. The MDOC infectious disease consultant says that the monotherapy (medications from the same class of drugs) prescribed to the prisoner is not recommended for treatment of HIV and could pose a threat to the inmate and others.
