According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the Middle East respiratory symptom coronavirus (MERS-CoV) has spread from the region to Europe, CNN reports. Since last September, 30 of the 53 known cases of the virus have resulted in death. Many of the cases have occurred on the Arabian Peninsula, but people have died of the virus in four European countries and Tunisia. Symptoms include fever and a cough, but can lead to pneumonia and kidney failure. Health officials don’t yet know much about how MERS-CoV spreads. WHO has asked countries to work together to address the virus.
