The Global Forum on MSM & HIV (MSMGF) has launched an initiative to support grassroots human rights activists in Central America, North Africa and Southeast Asia, according to an MSMGF statement. The initiative will provide trainings and funding to implement rights-based advocacy projects. The initiative seeks to reduce HIV rates among men who have sex with men (MSM) by building the capacity of local activists to reduce stigma, discrimination and violence against MSM. A consortium of funders—including ViiV Healthcare’s Positive Action, the Levi Strauss Foundation and Hivos—supports the initiative.
