Governor Andrew Cuomo (D–N.Y.) has awarded more than $1.1 million to seven community-based organizations to help low-income people with HIV/AIDS get work, the Queens Gazette reports. The HIV/AIDS Employment Initiative also provides case management services to people living with the virus to ensure their health needs are still being covered after they start working. Now in its 15th year, the initiative was one of the first dedicated solely to support the employment needs of people with HIV/AIDS.
