N.Y. Gets New Health Care Plan for People With HIV/AIDS
VSNY CHOICE, an affiliate of Visiting Nurse Service of New
York and the largest provider of HIV/AIDS services in New York, will acquire
the New York-Presbyterian System SelectHealth (NYPS) health care plan for
people with HIV/AIDS and their families, according to a VSNY statement. The new
plan, VSNY CHOICE Select Health, is a special needs plan for New Yorkers who
are eligible for Medicaid. It will provide each member with a team of doctors
who are led and coordinated by a nurse care manager. The plan will also give
members access to specialists in HIV and other fields, including cardiology,
dermatology, pulmonary medicine or endocrinology. The new plan went into effect
June 1.
