NYC Restores $5.1M Cut to HIV/AIDS Housing Programs
In fiscal year 2010, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg cut nearly $1.9 million from the HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA), which subsequently grew to a $5.1 million annual cut. The City Council has restored the HASA funds each year, but advocates have sought full restoration. In his last budget as mayor, Bloomberg has fully restored the $5.1 million cut to HASA, according to a statement by VOCAL-NY, one of the local HIV/AIDS groups advocating for such a restoration.
